From time to time, I share articles from around the web -- articles about books, reading, and writing -- that I found insightful, useful, and inspiring. I hope you benefit from it, too. :)
Matador Network is really a gem. Besides the regular articles about travel and culture and amazing destinations, it has also repeatedly shared book reviews, writing tips, and things that interest book lovers like me.
Yesterday, they shared the list of “15 super unique libraries around the world” on their Google+ page and I happily clicked the link, knowing that I’m about to see glimpses of heaven. I’m feeling giddy just thinking about it now. :)
I’m super stoked to see Makati’s Reading Club 2000 in the list. It’s actually an informal, community reading center that lets readers borrow, or keep the books with no IDs, no borrower’s fee, and no membership – just the interest, love, or curiosity to read. I haven’t been here (but I’m dying to) and I have read lots of good things about it.
If I had to pick my top 3 out of Matador’s list, a wish list of some sort, I’d have to choose these:
Library of Congress - Washington, DC, USA… because it’s the largest library in the world, therefore making it the ultimate book lover paradise.

Stuttgart City Library - Stuttgart, Germany… because it looks like a hospital, except it contains nothing but books. So modern, and so nerdy.

Picture Book Library - Iwaki City, Japan… because it’s super vibrant and absolutely cute! And us, adults, can use a day holed up in picture book heaven so we’ll remember how it feels to be young and carefree again.

How about you? Which of the 15 libraries would you like to visit first?
