So yeah, a week ago, I completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge.
I know, I know, that number's too low for someone who claims to be a bookworm. But you see, I've been setting a higher number ever since I went on Goodreads and this is the only time I've reached my goal. It's not really because I set a lower number. It's because I set a number that I thought was more achievable given the amount of spare time I have. I work, and I also have a life outside books (although admittedly I sometimes love reading more than doing any of those stuff) so it's hard for me to finish 100 books in a year. The best estimate was one book per week which gives me 48 books in a year. But I also guessed that there might be a time that I will be too busy to read so I lowered it just a tiny bit to 45. There are a few more weeks before the year ends so I am going over my goal! Yayyy!!!
This may not be a big deal for most of you. After all, it's just a number and what's important is that you read, right? I agree. But see, this year, I've read more good books and made good friends because of those books, too!

I'm excited to hear about your challenge. Are you done with it? How many books did you read? How many books do you still need to read? And what are your favorites so far? Share your thoughts on the Comments!
Congrats Joy for a challenge completed...well for me i actually lowered my nos. this year compared to last year...2014 i set it at 150 which i have completed months ago since i'm on my 184 na...hehehe...last year i was able to complete about 250+ but it was insane like i barely went out...i felt like a zombie LOL! this year i decided to relax a bit :) i also just completed my YA A-Z challenge..it was fun!
ReplyDeleteRELAX? You read 184 and you had the time to relax? YOU'RE INSANE!!! Or extremely lucky. If I want to read as much as you do, I'd have to abandon my work and family and boyfriend. Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteYAY! :D
ReplyDeleteI still have two books left, and I only put 20 books on. seriously, when do you guys get the time to read so much? In between earning money to pay rent and making theatre, there are days when I don't even get to open a book!

Congratulations!!! Such a good feeling. I've actually surpassed mine. go me!
ReplyDeleteHi, Felicia! Always happy to see you here in my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I did want to blog about books so it kind of pushed me to read whenever I can. But trust me, that is nothing. I know people who've read almost 200 books this year. I'd like to that but I can't. 18 books isn't bad either, you know. And you have theatre so wow, that's cool. :D
Yay Joy! I saw your challenge on Goodreads. Wow! 166 books is A LOT! Congratulations to us. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing! Congratulations, Joy. I passed mine a month ago I believe - it was set at 50, but when I actually do get a life I don't think I'll be able to beat that goal lmao.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I get you. I work full-time so reading a book a week means not having much time on weekends. That's why it's nice to have bookish friends offline -- you can have coffee dates and sleepovers while reading. :D
